BACKGROUND

Organizations are finding their supply chains under pressure. Whether it’s due to trade disruptions and geopolitical instability, or stricter ESG regulation, or climate-related impacts. For procurement leaders, supply chain resilience is now a strategic imperative. This Executive Roundtable Luncheon will bring together senior supply chain leaders to connect with their peers on how to build resilient and transparent supply chains in the face of growing scrutiny and systemic risk.

The Supply Chain Canada Executive Round Table series is an exclusive by-invitation event tailored to the needs of senior supply chain and industry business leaders. Supply Chain Canada is Canada’s largest association for supply chain professionals. For over 100 years, the association has worked to strengthen Canada’s supply chain by empowering professionals and industries to lead and innovate.

OVERVIEW

Session themes
Our discussion will focus on the following core themes:

  1. Understanding the risk landscape
What does resilience mean in today’s complex operating environment? We’ll open with a peer discussion on the key risks facing each participant's organisation, including human rights, environmental and geopolitical exposures. We'll examine how risk appetite, materiality thresholds, and stakeholder pressure shape risk trade-offs.

  2. ESG due diligence in a global regulatory landscape
Companies face growing pressure to meet expanding ESG disclosure requirements across climate, emissions and human rights. This session explores how organisations are responding to overlapping obligations across jurisdictions. We’ll examine Canada’s Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act and emerging climate reporting standards, alongside lessons from global regimes like Australia’s Modern Slavery Act and the EU’s CSDDD. The focus will be on how leading companies are raising the bar on transparency, supplier engagement and accountability.

  3. Building resilient supply chains
We’ll close with practical strategies and tools that enable greater supply chain resilience, from supply chain screening and ongoing supplier engagement; to emissions, biodiversity and modern slavery risk management. Participants will be invited to share what’s working inside their organisations and where challenges remain.

Learning outcomes
Participants will leave with:

  • A clearer understanding of how to assess supply chain resilience in their operating context
  • Insight into emerging global trends and due diligence best practices
  • Practical examples of how peers are managing complex risk trade-offs
  • Tools and approaches to strengthen transparency and resilience across supplier networks
  • Networking with supply chain executives and business leaders
